Hi-Q’s Ocean Challenge: Strengthening Body and Protecting Seas through Open Water Swimming
Last Saturday (18th May), Hi-Q's founder, Mr. Johnson Chang, and co-founder, Mr. Philip Hsieh, along with several colleagues, participated in an open water swimming event in Green Island (綠島, Taiwan). Remarkably, both Mr. Chang and Mr. Hsieh are over 70 years old, yet they remain sharp and active. Their secret? Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and frequent swimming.
Mr. Johnson Chang shared, "To keep myself motivated, I participate in at least five open water swims each year, including in locations such as Green Island, Kinmen, Keelung, Yilan, and Penghu. Each swim covers several kilometers and takes over an hour to complete. This is our best method for staying young and training our physical stamina."
The Green Island open water swimming event, which has been held for over a decade, attracts thousands of participants annually. It is a significant event that embodies the spirit and culture of the ocean, aiming to attract top swimmers from around the world to showcase their strength, perseverance, and determination. Moreover, the event aims to raise awareness about marine ecological protection and sustainable development, urging people to cherish and protect our oceans.
