Vyld Unveils the World’s First Seaweed Tampon, Leading a Sustainable Menstrual Revolution

Berlin-based startup Vyld is making waves in the menstrual health industry with Kelpon, the world’s first tampon made from seaweed. By harnessing the natural benefits of algae, Vyld is redefining sustainability, health, and empowerment.

Pioneering a New Era in Menstrual Care

Vyld’s mission is clear: to create period products that are not only safe and effective but also environmentally regenerative. With the successful certification of Kelpon, the company is now rolling out its groundbreaking product across Germany. Through strategic partnerships with employers, coworking spaces, fitness studios, and major event organizers, Kelpon is becoming a widely accessible alternative to conventional menstrual products.

A Vision Beyond Tampons: The Algaeverse

Founded in 2021 by Ines Schiller, Vyld operates under steward ownership, ensuring its long-term commitment to social and environmental impact. The company has secured a seven-figure seed round through a Future Profit Partnership Agreement, reinforcing its ambitious vision: to mainstream algae-based products in non-food sectors.

Vyld’s innovation extends far beyond tampons. The company is developing an entire ‘Algaeverse’ of sustainable products, including Vyndel, a compostable diaper, furthering its contribution to ocean regeneration and at least 8 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
